FIRST SQUARE

With A, ch 4; join with slip st in first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 1, [sc in ring, ch 7 sc in ring, ch 2] 4 times; join with slip st in first sc. Fasten off—8 sc, 4 ch-2 sps, and 4 ch-7 corner sps.

My New Little Safety Patrol

My 1o year old 5th grader decided he wanted to join the safety patrol this year. Today was his first day, he chose the afternoon schedule since he stays after school for the homework center anyway. He really enjoyed it.

Yellow Ducky & Polka Dot Flannel Rag Quilt

I made this cute little flannel rag quilt with just 2 layers of flannel, no batting. It's a great receiving blanket weight type blanket and measures approximately 42" x 42". I liked the colors and thought it would be a great quilt for a newborn, especially not knowing if it's a boy or girl. The yellow is very gender neutral.

It's available for sale in my Etsy shop. I'd also be happy to gift wrap and include a gift tag with this special little quilt.

Baby Boy Flannel Car Seat Rag Quilt

This cute little quilt is a custom order for a customer expecting a new grandson in a few weeks. It features dump trucks, trains and all things little boys like. This unique quilt has a 'hole' for the car seat straps so it literally attaches to the infant's car seat. As you can see from the pics, it's also useful for a little bassinet blanket as well.

Sage & Brown Crib Quilt

Here is my finished crib quilt. It was a custom order through eBay. It's a little larger than a normal crib sized quilt but it gives plenty of room for their child to use as a toddler and beyond.

I used 6 different prints; 3 sage and 3 browns. I am just thrilled with the results.

Here is a photo album link for more pics of this quilt including some close-ups.

Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Quilt Project

October is approaching fast and October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. My eBay quilting group is combining our efforts to make a wonderful rag quilt to be auctioned off in early Oct.

Our Susan G. Komen auction raised just over $100 for this important cause in 2008. I hope 2009 will be an even better year. Last year's auction was in honor of my late mother, who lost her 5 year battle with Stage 4 breast cancer in Oct. 2004.

I know SGK raises funds through a variety of events. What makes our auction special? It is a handcrafted keepsake made by a group of women, most whom have never even met each other, yet have a common bond of quilting and so much more, the bond of sisterhood.

Stay tuned for details and photos. Our auction will be live in early Oct.
