It is also available for sale in my new Bonanzle shop.

Oh Baby!

Check out my handpicked baby items that are for sale on Bonanzle. I tried hard to pick items that are all handcrafted.

New Fabric has Arrived

New fabric has arrived and I'm so excited! It's a lovely blend of classic blacks and whites. Just toss in a little red or yellow and you've got a hot little bundle.

I am offering yardage, charms and jelly rolls in these prints. Just visit RagamuffinFabrics for more details.

Please contact me with any questions, I'm happy to help.

Wonderful Birthday Bash on Saturday.

My friend, Cindy, had a 50th birthday bash on Saturday. It was wonderful. She had a childhood friend from PA and another long time friend from FL fly in for the weekend as well.

It was a girls only party and was lots of fun. We had food, food and more food. No time for diets when there is cake to be eaten! :-D

We have the birthday girl sitting up front, of course. From left to right is Pat, me, Wendy (PA), Cindy (FL), Robin (Pat's daughter). Cindy's niece, Rebecca, was holding the camera at the time.

Quilted Pink Green Camo Frog Tote/Diaper Bag

Ok, I finished a bag that I started over a month ago. It's a nice large bag for carrying all your little one needs for a trip to daycare, grandma's house, picnic at the park and more.

Click here to see my Etsy listing.

I have more of this fabric available to make a matching car seat rag quilt or infant rag or traditional quilt. What a cute set for new baby!

Butterfly Charm Knitting/Crochet Bag

Ok, here is my pink & brown fabric surprise. I made a knitting bag with lots of pockets. It's a gift for a dear friend and I know she'll just love it.

One side of interior pockets has several different width pockets for knitting needles, circular needles, crochet hooks, etc. The other set of pockets is larger for all of your other knitting/crochet gadgets.

I plan to make more so stay tuned for more to come & hey, I might even put them in my Etsy shop. :-)

My Newest WIP

I just pulled fabrics out of the sewing room (after over an hour of just looking & digging). I decided on a batch of pinks and browns I have been gazing at for awhile now.

I can't tell you what it's going to be just yet but stay tuned for my finished project either tonight or tomorrow.

Off I go to cut & sew. :-)

Strip Twist Quilt - Assembled

I finally have my strip twist quilt-as-you-go quilt assembled. All I have now is the outer binding and it's complete. YAY!

I had lots of fun making this quilt and plan to make more or similar quilts soon. Each of my boys has requested a similar style; including my hubby. :-)

Thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout this project and to all my blogging pals who have left such wonderful comments.

Strip Twist Quilt Update

I am finally attaching the blocks together today. I have row 1 assembled and ready to move on but just had to share some "in process" pics.

I did this as a quilt-as-you-go project so I am using a binding strip the same color as the "twist" that joins the blocks together in hopes it doesn't take away from the twist at all.

Operation Showers of Appreciation Charity Request

I was approached several months ago to participate in donating items to Operation Showers of Appreciation.

OSOA is "A volunteer based organization that assists active duty and active duty reserve military and their families expecting babies. OSOA honors these families for the many sacrifices they have made in a unique way by providing baby items and hosting large scale baby showers in their honor."

I have two different items I'd like to contribute but need your help. I'd like to send some items for the new babies along with some items for the new mothers as well. Don't all new mothers deserve a little something too?

For baby, I am collecting yardage and/or 6" flannel squares in solids and baby prints for newborn rag quilts & receiving blankets. Each quilt requires approximately 1.5 yards of flannel.

For mothers, I am collecting 100% cotton yarn for handcrafted "spa" items for a little much needed pampering. If there are any crocheters or knitters who are willing to help make these items and send them to me for the care packages, I would really appreciate it.

Everyone who donates will be mentioned for their contributions. Thanks so much for your generosity in assisting our troops; let's help their support group, their families here on the home front waiting for them to come home safely.

Please contact me directly at ragamuffinquilts@yahoo.com for more information or questions. Mention OSOA in the title, I might miss you if it hits my spam folder.

Crochet 101: Left Hand Single Crochet

Here is the next step in learning to crochet for all you lefties out there.

Once you figure out how to chain your foundation you can then try a single crochet.

I hope you find these videos helpful. I can't take credit for these videos, all credit goes to Teresa (tjw1963). I found them while searching instructions for my little leftie at home.

Crochet 101 - Left Hand Crochet Chain

Crochet 101 - Left Hand Crochet Chain

Having a left-handed child and not being a full lefty myself, I've been searching for left handed instruction for crochet.

To access this video instruction, simply click on the "Crochet 101 - Left Hand Crochet Chain" hyperlink above.

I decided to share these findings with you. It's very frustrating for my child to learn but I'm hoping these lessons I find will help him as well as others.

Stay tuned for more links to come.

WWK(C)IP DAY AT FALLS PARK

We had a great day at Falls Park in downtown Greenville today. It was a small group but we had fun all the same. I took the boys with me and FiberDeviant was so kind and patient to teach my oldest how to loom knit. He didn't get to finish but he did learn something new today that he thought was very cool.

Below are just a few of the pics we snapped while there. There were lots of folks enjoying our beautiful weather and some even brought their dogs. Greenville is a very dog friendly town.

The boys saw all sorts of critters too; lizard, chipmunk, caterpillar, funky bugs and more.

Click on the collage pic below to enlarge if you want to see it better.

Happy Birthday, Steven!

Hard to believe 10 years ago today we had our first child. Although he had a rough beginning, he has grown into a happy, healthy "young man". He is very excited to celebrate his big day on Saturday with a few friends.

My Little Jock

School had awards night last night at school. Our youngest received most improved for p.e. He received the same award at his old school last year. We're guessing he is our future jock in the making.

Our oldest is our future artist and/or musician. He hasn't decided yet. Of course that's just a backup to his marine biology dream.

Next year "our" goal is for honor roll ALL four semesters, not just 1 or 2.
